WHO IS A SAATHI TEACHER?

Saathi teacher is a passionate teacher committed to increasing the numeric and language literacy skills in students and focusing on developing 21st-century skills in the primary level classroom in a child-friendly way. 

 

WHY SHOULD I JOIN SAATHI TEACHER PROGRAMME?

Saathi teacher programme provides you with a unique opportunity to impact basic-level classrooms of rural Nepal and develop yourself professionally as a teacher in the long term.

During two years as a Saathi teacher, we provide you with various tools and ideas to help you grow as a professional teacher while supporting you regularly to impact the classroom significantly. 

 

HOW LONG SHOULD I COMMIT?

You should commit for 2 years on a fixed-term contract.  You cannot withdraw in the middle of the programme. 

 

HOW MUCH WILL I GET PAID? 

Saathi teachers will be paid a total of 572,000  in two years, along with a festival bonus. This will be distributed as 5,000 for accommodation setup, 19,500 every month and 65,000 gratuity fund after the completion of 2 years. 

 

We will also cover your medical and accidental insurance. 

 

WHERE WILL I WORK?

You will work in the basic schools of rural Sindhupalchowk and Tanahu districts. 

 

WHO WILL I BE TEACHING?

You will be teaching language (Nepali or English) or Maths from grades 1-5 in community schools.  

 

WHERE WILL I LIVE WHILE I TEACH?

You will be living in a community near your school. Ideally, you are placed at homes within the community where you are teaching. The school administration manages the accommodation.

 

HOW WILL I BE SUPPORTED DURING THOSE 2 YEARS? 

We will conduct pre-service teacher’s training and monthly training to help you grow as transformative teachers. During these two years, you will also network with top personalities working to shape Nepal's education. 

 

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 2 YEARS?

Even after 2 years, we will support your lifelong journey of being a transformative educator indirectly or directly.
