Losing a father in the early days, I struggled with my mother and sister. I belong to a low-income family. Nevertheless, two strong ladies in my life showered me immense support and attention.

My mother says; I was a curious, inquisitive and stubborn boy in my childhood. I intend to speak facts, whereas I had low self-esteem to talk in front of the mass. Talking about my education, I completed my schooling at a public school in the village. I remember teachers supporting me as much as possible with stationery because my family could not provide me with all those basic requirements for my study.

The only way to keep up with my education was to compete and become a topper in class. Do I even have other choices? The one who secured the first position in the class got the award for stationery items, and that was my one motivation to continue my study.

In a greater sense, I used to be punctual and obedient with my homework, but to teachers. I vividly remember beings shy by nature and asking my friends to do so for me.

As much as I enjoy studying, it gives me pure satisfaction to recall working at my home. My sister and I had to fetch water from rivers, do animal husbandry, and fill souls with any kind of food at home. Never complained nor demanded any luxurious dish.

My passion for study became intense when I understood Mathematics. As my devotion grew, my grades grew, but my financial condition was still the same. To share with you all, I dressed most of the others who have donated to me, walked 1.5 hours distance to reach school, was utterly unknown, and even begged school for admission to continue my education.

Life was full of struggle, juggling every other day for a happy life. Somewhere deep down, it always clicked with me to continue my education. Maybe as a kid, this was the only tool that would help me to be a better individual, I imagined. Fighting all the odds and securing the required position in a study for scholarships, I have completed my Bachelor in Education with a Major in Maths. And that's not all. I am a Saathi Teacher 2021 teaching Mathematics in Shree Golmeswori Basic School at Taar, Paanchpokhari, Sindhupalchowk.

A year of this journey has already shown many Narayan Poudel at every corner of this school. I am dedicating another year to this quality movement in education by connecting new technology and Maths inside the classroom. I hope to learn more new techniques to connect Mathematics with the world and life so that I transfer it to my students.
