“An education is a path from darkness to the light of life”.
I am the youngest daughter and probably the pampered one as universal truth. Learning Nepali Alphabet from playing in the lap of my Baba (Father) and now completing a Bachelor in Education, my life is full of the importance of education.
I come from a middle-class family where my mother insisted on only a thing about having a more outstanding education for her children. Though my brother could not complete his study, I have been quite lucky this term. I have completed my Bachelor's in Education. Talking about my nature, I am a shy person who fears talking with strangers and expressing myself. That made me less noticed as a student among many others in my class. Nevertheless, I was a studious kid who had a great interest in Mathematics. And I completed my +2 from the same school as well.
When my teachers pushed me to participate in a speech competition, I was surprised that I secured a second position. That's how slowly it developed my mass speaking confidence and could well express my thoughts.
Slowly and gradually, I was adapting to the new skill in me. Today when I have to remember my childhood days, I think of many small kids who used to cry before going to school, and there was me all happy learning the Nepali alphabet with my father and now, keeping the same soul of kids on my lap and teaching them. How blissful it is to think of transforming all that I had in me to the new generation.
I am Saathi Teacher 2021, currently teaching at Shree Saraswoti Basic School, Laagrche. I want to continue doing home visits in another year of this journey because here, people lack knowledge of the importance of sending kids to school, and I want to ensure that I can make things happen quietly through my visit.
